November 17 and 20, 2014

Highlights: We explore the music of J.S. Bach, played by both guitar soloists, but also in ensemble. We open with the familiar Bouree from the First Suite for Lute, played by Jason Vieaux. Next we hear an incredible transcription of the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, originally for organ, performed by Philip Hi. Then we hear the Violin Sonata No. 1, by Paul Galbraith, 8-string guitar. Then the last major work, by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, performing the Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 in B flat major. All this with music from the Anna Magdalena Notebook interspersed.
