The Kithara Duo (Olga Amelkina-Vera and Fernand Vera), formed in 2002 and have stayed relevant with performances all over the globe.

The have performed in Europe and South America, as well as nationally for such organizations as Guitar Sarasota, Guitar Fort Worth, and the Treasure Coast Classical Guitar Society.

Olga Amelkina-Vera grew up in Belarus and moved to the United States in 1997. In addition to her active performance career, Ms. Amelkina-Vera also touts accolades as an award-winning composer.

Fernand Vera was born in Houston, TX to a French mother and an Ecuadorian father. He runs a thriving program at Collin College in Plano, TX that touts a Guitar Festival and Competition for Texas community college students every fall semester.

The St. Louis Classical Guitar Society is thrilled to welcome The Kithara Duo to our city, and we hope you can join us for an exciting Saturday night concert.

The Kithara Duo will conduct a master class for young area guitar students on Sunday, December 3, 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the 560 Music Center in University City, Missouri, 63130. Admission is $5 at the door, free to Guitar Society Members. For more information call Mark Akin at 314 567-5566.
