Highlights: We include more music from Brasil, and performances by Odair Assad. As on October 13, our show begins with music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, three pieces from the piano repertoire, played on guitars by the Assads and the Brazilian Guitar Quartet. We then hear The Assads perform a nine-movement suite by J.P. Rameau, originally for harpsichord. We continue with Sounds of Bells and Itching Powder by Pernambuco, played by Graham Anthony Devine. Then the balance of the show is Odair Assad performing the music of Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla.
