The second concert in the 2012-13 Great Artist Series will feature internationally-acclaimed Russian guitarist Vladimir Gorbach. A native of Novosibirsk in
Siberia, Russia, Mr. Gorbach has performed as both a soloist and with orchestras across the world in Austria, Australia, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy,
Montenegro, Spain, and in his native Russia. He has been a featured performer for some of the most highly-regarded concert organizations, festivals
and musical institutions, including the Moscow Philharmonic Concert Series,
the Koblenz International Guitar Festival and the Sydney Crows Nest Concert
Cycle. He has won first place in more than ten of the most important international guitar competitions in the world, most recently at the Guitar Foundation
of America’s International Concert Artist Competition in June 2011, earning
him a more than 50-city concert tour of the United States, Mexico and Canada,
with appearances in Brazil and China, and including a Carnegie Hall debut
through the auspices of the D’Addario Music Foundation.
