The third concert in the 2012-13 Great Artist Series will feature world-
renowned Bulgarian/Viennese violinist Bojidara Kouzmanova and Spanish
classical and flamenco guitarist Virginia Luque in a dazzling and rarely heard
combination of instruments that has been drawing raves from audiences wherever they perform. Ms. Kouzmanova, the winner of many international violin
competitions in both Europe and the US--including the “Bela Bartok” and
“Dobrin Petkov“ Violin Competitions--has appeared as soloist with numerous
orchestras and performed in recital throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and
South America. Ms. Luque--a student of the legendary Andres Segovia-- has
been awarded First Prize at several international competitions, including
the "Manuel de Falla" Competition in Granada, Spain. She recently recorded
Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez with the London Symphony Orchestra at
Abbey Road Studios in London. Their St. Louis debut program will consist of
selections of Spanish, gypsy, and flamenco music.
