Bach.

Highlights: Join us for “Three…Four…Five!” Music for the Obdara Trio (Walfrido Dominguez & Farid Bechara Botero, guitars, with Bartolomé García-Plata Gironés, clarinet; the Quaternaglia Guitar Quartet featuring Fernando Lima, João Luiz, Fábio Ramazzina, and Sidney Molina, guitars; and the Petar Jankovic Ensemble, five musicians with Petar Jankovic, guitar; Sophie Bird, violin I; Grace Kim, violin II; Rose Wollman, viola; and Maria Martinez, cello. Music by ignacio Cervantes, Walfrido Domingues, Leo Brouwer, Paulo Bellinati, Radames Gnattali: and Astor Piazzolla.

Highlights: Our program entitled "Doubledown: Dynamic Guitar Duo's from Italy, France, and Australia" perform music of Pierre Petit, Federico Mompou, Radames Gnatali, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Nigel Westlake. Features Duo Resonances, Solo Duo, and the Australian Guitar Duo.

Week of March 9, 2015

Highlights: A show featuring the eclectic recordings of guitarist/composer Benjamin Verdery, the Yale University teacher of both Thomas Flippin and Christopher Mallett of Duo Noire, who were featured in the week of March 2 on Inside Classical Guitar. Hear traditional music of J.S. Bach's 'Cello Suite #4, contemporary classical represented by John Anthony Lennon's Sonatina. Then the untraditional, Ben Verdery's arrangements of music by Prince Roger Nelson, Van Stiefel, and his own compositions.

Week of March 2, 2015

Highlights: Conversation with the members of Duo Noire: Thomas Flippin and Chris Mallett, who were in St. Louis recently in a special residency to visit our local schools who have new school programs. They play live for us in studio, their newly-published arrangement of "Juba" by E. Nathaniel Dett, featured in the Spring 2015 issue of Soundboard magazine. Also selections from Chris's new CD entitled "The Porcelain Tower," and Thomas's CD "Something New."
