      I am writing you to ask for your support of a project dear to my heart. On November 2, 3 and 4  I was able to personally observe nine of our city public schools as guitarists Thomas Flippin and Chris Mallett made visits to classrooms and assemblies at elementary, middle, and high schools. Known as Duo Noire, they immediately engaged the students with both empathy and musical expertise. At every stop students (and teachers!) engaged in a complex rhythm clapping  game (hemiola!) with total enthusiasm
