Now, after undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation, eighteenth century antiques and historical fixtures live alongside flat-screen TVs and granite bathrooms, with hand-carved mantle in the living room to stained glass windows throughout. A private foundation in Saint Louis, Missouri, The Whitaker Foundation was begun by Mae Meissner Whitaker in memory of her husband Lyndon. In addition to encouraging the preservation and use of parks, the Foundation supports the enrichment of lives through the arts.

Founded in 1973, OCA is a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. OCA aims to embrace the hopes and aspirations of Asian Pacific Americans. The St. Louis Chapter is one of the 3 founding chapters. Today, there are over 80 OCA chapters and affiliates across the country.
